Candida Cleanse

I’ve read a lot about candida cleanses and decided to give it a go, I have a strong coffee and bread addiction which needs to be reined in. I’ve also been battling re occurring thrush infections for about a year now so this is long over due.

I began yesterday, I am making up my missed Ramadan fasts right now so its a great time to begin, its easier to control what food I eat and drink and the days fast of about 12 hours gives my liver a chance to rest and heal inshaallah. The day before I began fasting I drank a cup of Dr Stuarts Liver Cleansing Detox Herbal Tea and also later on a mug of warm water with turmeric and a tea spoon of apple cider vinegar and a squeeze of lemon juice, to gear up my liver for the cleanse.

So the night before last I had a low carb meal of home made daal, vegetable curry and a few pieces of chicken. I felt so full afterwards mashallah. I took a dose of Yeast Treatment Capsules capsules and drank a load of water with raw organic apple cider vinegar added to it.

At suhur about 5.30 am I drank a mug of redbush tea and a glass of water with a tea spoon of apple cider vinegar.

I felt pretty good during the day, an Islamic fast involves abstaining from food, drink, smoking and sex during day light hours, women don’t fast while on their period,  or bleeding after childbirth we make these days up later in the year which is why I have days out standing from last Ramadan.

About an hour before sunset I began to feel headachy and tired and went to sit in the quiet of my room. I broke fast on a juice of organic celery and peeled cucumber which was surprisingly refreshing though a little too cold in the winter. I had a cup of decaf green tea and oat cakes with cashew nut butter. Dinner was baked fish with spinach, mustard, fresh horse radish sauce and home made coleslaw and green salad.

I snacked on rice cakes with houmous and sliced beef (which I realise now probably wasn’t a good choice as its processed)took another dose of yeast capsules and went to bed with a killer headache.

Today I woke up at 5.30 hungry so ate a fried egg on top of home made ratatouille  and drank a mug of redbush tea with a tea spoon of blackseed oil added to it.

I have a slight headache which I am putting down to lack of caffeine, I have drank a lot of fluids so dont feel dehydrated mashallah. Tonights iftar is the celery and cucumber juice and rice cakes with cashew nut butter.Dinner will be black rice, the rest of the ratatouille and I was planning to use some soy meat balls but am not sure about having processed soya, the rest of the family are having spaghetti and the meatballs.

I am missing fruit especially dates and of course bread and coffee, I feel foggy and heavy headed but I hope this improves its only the second day after all.

Has anyone else embarked on a candida cleanse whilst fasting? I’d love to hear about how it went.
